Month6 vs Hevy: which workout app fits you?
Facts about Hevy as of , from its own site, help center and store listings, linked in the table. Hevy is a trademark of its owner; this page is not affiliated with it.
The short version
Hevy and Month6 both log strength training, and both are free to start. They differ in what sits around the log. Hevy is built as a training log with a community feed: you follow routines, see what friends lifted, and Hevy Pro adds a program builder and load recommendations. Month6 starts from a goal (bulk, cut or recomp), builds the training plan and the daily calorie and protein targets for it, and shows a projected figure of your body at Month 6 that the log then has to earn.
This page lays the two side by side as they stood on the date at the top. Every fact about Hevy comes from Hevy's own help center or its App Store listing, linked in the table, and prices are the US App Store figures, so yours may differ by region. Nothing here is a ranking: the right app is the one that matches what you want to track.

Where they differ
A log first, or a goal first
Hevy opens on your workouts and your feed: you choose or build routines and log them, and the free app shows what you lifted last time. Month6 opens on a goal and a date six months out, and the plan, the daily targets and the log all point at it. If you already know what you want to run, Hevy stays out of your way; if you want the plan made for you, that is where Month6 starts.
Where the free line sits
Hevy's free tier caps routines, custom exercises and how much history you can see, and keeps the program builder and load suggestions for Pro. Month6's free tier keeps the whole log and every chart, the generated plan and the projection, and puts the AI coach behind Pro. Both are honest ways to split an app; they free up different things.
Nutrition
Hevy's features guide covers training, body weight, measurements and photos, and lists no food log or calorie targets. Month6 sets calorie, protein, carb and fat targets from your goal and lets you log food from a built-in library or your own foods. If you already track food in another app, that difference may not matter to you.
Community
Hevy has a social feed for following friends and sharing workouts, which many lifters use for accountability. Month6 has no feed; its accountability is a streak, a daily loop of training, protein and sleep, and a weekly check-in.
Platforms
Hevy runs on iPhone, Android, the web, Apple Watch and Wear OS. Month6 runs on iPhone and Android only, so if you log from a watch or a browser, Hevy covers more of the places you train.
